The Karawanken-Karavanke UNESCO Global Geopark is a cross-border region of natural and cultural experiences with an outstanding geological heritage. Five Slovene and nine Austrian municipalities are bound together in an area of 1,067 km².
Discover the exciting underworld of Mt. Peca / Petzen by bike or kayak (Podzemlje Pece) or head for the colorful Obir stalactite caves. Find your inner peace on St. Hema Mountain / Hemmaberg, one of the oldest pilgrimage destinations in this part of Europe. Visit the Geo.Dom whit its fascinating interactive exhibition of the Geopark on Mt. Peca / Petzen, get you adrenaline kick by biking down the Flow Country Trail, or take the zipline ‘from Europe to Africa’ over Črna na Koroškem.
