#bordergenius

The Karawanken-Karavanke UNESCO Global Geopark is a cross-border region rich in natural and cultural experiences with an exceptional geological heritage. Spanning over an area of 1,067 km², five Slovenian and nine Austrian municipalities are united.

Discover the exciting underworld of Mt. Peca / Petzen by bike or kayak (Podzemlje Pece), and marvel at the vibrant colors of the Obir dripstone caves. Find your inner peace on St. Hema Mountain / Hemmaberg, one of the oldest pilgrimage destinations in this part of Europe. Visit the GEO.DOM with its fascinating interactive exhibition of the Geopark on Mt. Peca / Petzen,  or boost your adrenaline on the Flow Country Trail. You can even soar “from Europe to Africa” on the zipline over Črna na Koroškem. For a more relaxed experience, cross the Austria-Slovenia border aboard the peaceful Draufloß timber raft – a scenic journey on water.

The Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark offers all this and much more.
