Geopark Karawanken Bus – from July 2025, a new cross-border connection in the Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark

The Geopark Bus is a cross-border bus service in the Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark that aims to strengthen sustainable mobility in tourism. Starting from Bleiburg Land railway station, it connects tourist highlights and local attractions on both sides of the Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark and offers a comfortable and environmentally friendly alternative to travelling by car. The bus runs five times a day and links tourism services from Slovenia and Austria.

• Žerjav
• Mežica
• Bleiburg Land railway station (Pliberk)

The Geopark Bus represents an important step towards improving the accessibility of the region and strengthening cooperation between transport and tourism in this cross-border area.
