The Municipality of Črna na Koroškem invites all enthusiasts of winter magic to join the legendary 34th King Matjaž Castles (Gradovi kralja Matjaža) event in Črna na Koroškem, taking place from January 30 to February 1, 2026.
This three-day spectacle kicks off on Friday with the Night Slalom for the King Matjaž Cup. Numerous skiers will descend the slopes of the Črna ski resort illuminated by torches, competing fiercely for the top spots.
On Saturday, the focus shifts to the builder teams who will battle it out building magnificent snow castles. We invite everyone to gather your team, register, build your unique snow sculpture, and compete for valuable cash prizes! We promise immense fun alongside a varied accompanying program so lively it will awaken even King Matjaž! The evening culminates in a party with music, while fire torches illuminate the many impressive snow artworks.
The snow castles will remain on display on Sunday! The final day will be packed with numerous musical performances and animations for the youngest, including the opportunity to try horse riding at Ranch Jerak or jump at Mini Planica. We will also award the winners of the literary and art competitions and search for the hidden treasure together with King Matjaž.
