From 11. - 15. November 2024, Kladovo, Serbia, became the hub of collaboration and innovation for the Danube GeoTour Plus project. The event gathered all project partners and geopark representatives to discuss strategies for sustainable tourism and enhancing visitor experiences across the Danube region.
The meeting provided a dynamic blend of workshops, discussions, and hands-on experiences. Participants delved into sustainable tourism practices, shared ideas for transnational storytelling, and finalized plans for innovative Geopark Experiences. A field trip to Ploče, featuring a hike and a boat ride on the Danube, highlighted the stunning natural and cultural heritage of Djerdap Geopark.
The event not only strengthened the partnership but also reinforced a shared vision for sustainable development in geoparks. Our sincere thanks go to Djerdap Geopark for their exceptional hosting, as well as to the lead partner Geopark Styrian Eisenwurzen, for their leadership and dedication.
This meeting marked an important step forward in promoting the Danube region's unique heritage and sustainable tourism potential. Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses!
