Today in Feistritz/Bleiburg, the establishment of a joint cross-border operational corridor between Slovenia and Carinthia was presented. This corridor is intended to enable the fastest possible assistance in the event of a disaster, regardless of which side of the border it originates from. Regional Councillor Daniel Fellner presented the KaraMon project of the EGTC Geopark Karawanken within the framework of the EU Interreg SI-AT program and emphasized the importance of this initiative, which will impact the entire border region between Slovenia and Carinthia.
Additionally, as part of the project, the fire brigades of the Geopark Karawanken will be equipped with large pumps, and a dedicated monitoring system for landslide-prone areas will be established to enable faster and better assessment of hazard situations in the future.
