Geoparkforscherkids

The main aim of the LEADER project GEOPARKFORSCHERKIDS is to motivate kids for outdoor recreation.
So far, in the frame of the project, two playgrounds were established, various workshops, focused on geology, geography, botany, zoology, physics and chemistry, tested with a pilot group at several locations in Geopark Karawanken-Karavanke area. Furthermore, an information point for the Geopark was built in Gallizien, and wooden frames were erected at the camp stations for a better view of nature.

Natural heritage knowledge of our region is going to be extended in the project progress, since only what we know can be valued and hence preserved for our future generations.

The total investment of the Geoparkforscherkids project is 100.000 EUR, with the participation of the country, Land Carinthia and the European Union.
