The EU project Crossborder ACTIVE 2020 was launched at the end of 2014 in order to accelerate the further development and professionalization of bilateral municipal cooperation in the entire border area between Austria and Slovenia on the basis of the existing cross-border cooperation in the Geopark and to develop further perspectives for the Geopark until 2020. The project is implemented within the framework of the Operational Program SI-AT 2007-2013.
On the one hand, processes for the content-related, strategic profile development of a "microregion" are to be created using the example of the Geopark, and on the other hand, new possibilities and harmonized organizational processes in this bilateral cooperation structure are to be demonstrated.
