Geopark Karawanken Bus – from July 2025, a new cross-border connection in the Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark

The Geopark Bus is a cross-border bus service in the Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark that aims to strengthen sustainable mobility in tourism. Starting from Bleiburg Land railway station, it connects tourist highlights and local attractions on both sides of the Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark and offers a comfortable and environmentally friendly alternative to travelling by car. The bus runs five times a day, linking tourism services between Slovenia and Austria.

The Geopark Bus represents an important step towards improving the accessibility of the region and strengthening cooperation between transport and tourism in this cross-border area.

The price of a single ticket is € 3.50 for adults and € 1.70 for children.

The concept of the bus line was developed within the framework of the INTERREG SI-AT project Connect2Tourism.
